MATERNITY
BENEFITS
Pregnancy is treated like any other
medical condition. Maternity benefits are provided under the
Company's group medical policies and are provided to all covered
employees and covered employee dependents. Maternity coverage is,
however, subject to the insurer's general restriction on coverage of
conditions existing prior to employment. If a medical leave of
absence is taken for reason of maternity, benefit continuation rules
are the same as for other medical leaves of absence.
MATERNITY
LEAVE
It is the policy of this Company to
grant a maternity leave of absence without pay to a qualifying
employee, whenever practical to do so, in order to continue the
employee's relationship with the Company during a period of
pregnancy and recovery from childbirth. As with other medical
leaves, a maternity leave will be unpaid except to the extent as
employee has time off accrued. A doctor's statement
approving the employee able to return to work is required after
childbirth.
Limitations: If a
pregnant employee is unable to perform the duties of her position in
a safe and/or efficient manner, the employee, like any other
employee unable to work because of sickness or disability, may be
involuntarily placed on disability. In no instance will an employee
be involuntarily terminated because of pregnancy.
MOONLIGHTING
The Company discourages it's full-time
employees from taking employment outside the Company. If an employee
is planning to take an outside job, the employee must first obtain
permission from his or her supervisor. Employees will not be given
permission to take an outside job with a competing company.
Employees will not own or work in a business using material and
equipment that is the property of the
Company. |
