RANDOM DRUG TESTING
PROCEDURES
Once every month on any Monday selected
by the President, one employee will be selected randomly to provide
a urine sample for testing.
Random Selection: Every employee at
Master Pumps will receive one 2 digit employee number in the range
of 00 to 99. This number will remain with the employee until further
notice or when total employee headcount exceeds 99 employees. At
that time all employees will be reassigned new numbers, if needed.
Based upon the Texas Lottery numbers posted in any Sunday paper just
prior to the sample date a number will be selected from the second
and fourth digit of the first 4 numbers of the Texas Lottery. When
these two digits (numbers) are the same as an employees numbers we
will send a lab technician to the employee site to collect a urine sample for testing from the employee selected. The Texas Lottery
being as random as any other selection procedure with all employees
having the same probability of selection.
Test Results: If the test results are
negative no further action will be taken. If the test results are
positive the following procedures will be followed. 1. Employee
can submit to a second test within 24 hours of notification from a
different screening laboratory of employers choice. Sample must be
collected within 24 hours from notification. 2. If employee does
not submit to secondary testing, employee will be placed on a
non-paid leave of absence until a doctors certificate is provided
documenting the legal use of the substance the employee tested
positive. 3. If the employee does not test negative to the second
testing or does not provide a doctors certificate acceptable to
employer; employee will be terminated for violation of company
policy concerning drugs in the workplace.
All employees have read or have had the
opportunity to read our policy concerning drug enforcement found in
our employee manual. Be sure to inform employee of this procedure at
your next meeting. |
