20. Do not lift heavy objects, get
help. When lifting a heavy object, end the knees; keep the shoulders
back; lift with the leg muscles; do not lift with your
back.
21. Be sure you are properly balanced
before pulling on a wrench.
22. Walking surfaces should be kept
clear of debris, lint, dust and other slippery, traction-robbing
materials. Never spit on the floor.
23. Do not lift material with greasy
gloves or hands; or when your shoes might be slippery.
24. Never throw tools or material to
another person. Walk over and hand it to a person. If the person is
on a different level, use a hand line to pass it up.
25. Welders and bystanders should not
look at a welding arc or flame without goggles or a shield.
Prolonged looking at an arc welding flash will cause serious burns
to eyes.
26. When people are present in the
immediate area, spray painting is prohibited. Spray painters must
wear masks while painting.
27. High pressure gas bottles must be
chained so they cannot tip over.
28. Any employee who feels ill should
report to their supervisor immediately.
29. Remove all projecting nails from
the inside and outside of any barrels, kegs, boxes or pallets.
Remove or bend down all projecting nals, wire bards or fastenings in
lumber and cardboard.
30. Liquids having a flash point below
100 degrees F must be kept in approved safety cans. The use of even
small open containers is not
permitted. |
