SULFUR
DIOXIDE
Sulfur Dioxide is a colorless
non-combustible gas with an extremely pungent odor. SO2 is a
by-product of flared H2S gas. SO2 gas causes irritation and
inflammation of the eyes. It has a suffocating odor, and is
corrosive and poisonous material. At high concentrations it affects
the upper respiratory tract and the bronchi, possible causing edema
of the lungs and respiratory paralysis.
