EPA REGULATIONS FOR SMALL
QUANTITY PRODUCERS:
Generators of no more than 220 pounds
or approximately 25 gallons (1/2 barrel) of hazard9ous waste and no
more than about two pounds of highly dangerous (acute) waste during
any calendar month are required to do the
following:
1. Identify, label and store in
different containers the waste you produce. EAch container must be
labeled as hazardous wastes and the container marked for the
substance it contains.
2. Send this waste to a hazardous waste
facility or a landfill or other facility approved by the State for
industrial or municipal waste disposal.
3. Never accumulate more than 2,200
pounds or about five barrels of hazardous waste on your property at
any time. Dispose of these wastes properly and prior to accumulating
any excess of five barrels of hazardous
wastes. |
