KEEPING
1. As adopted by the Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR) two OSHA logs, number 200 and number 101 must be
filled out whenever there is an injury or illness within 6 days. Log
200 is to be posted at each work establishment no later than 45 days
after the injury or illness. Log 101 must be filled out and
available at each establishment for inspection. Master Pumps has
established the following policy:
a. Immediately after injury fill out
the first report of injury or illness report that each state
requires. Be as detailed as possible. Send this report to the
Corporate Office. b. The Coporate Office will log the proper
information on Form 200 and send to the Branch for posting. Discard
old log. c. Each year a summary covering the previous calendar
year shall be posted no later than February 1 and shall remain in
place until March 1st. d. Such notices shall be posted by the
employer in each establishment in a conspicuous place. Each employer
shall take setps to insure that such notices are not altered,
defaced or covered by other material.
2. Motor Vehicle Record (MVR0 is
obtained on every prospective new hire before employed even if that
person will not be assigned a company vehicle. This is kept in the
personal file at Corporate and obtained again every two
years.
3. A file should be kept at each
location consisting of a past safety committee meeting minutes as
well as all materials used in each safety meeting.
INSPECTIONS
To maintain a safe place to work,
periodic location safety audits will be given at each location on an
occasional basis. Any deficiencies found as a result of the
safety audit should be corrected in a timely fashion. Besides
inspecting for general overall safety hazards, a number of specific
items will be checked. Which would include the following: Signs,
Posters, Personal Protective Safety Equipment, Entrances, Exits,
Halls, Aisles, Fire Prevention and Protection, Chemical Storage and
Use, Electrical, Exhaust and Ventilation, Hand, Power Tools, Hoists,
Cranes, Jacks, Lifting Equipment, Ladders, Stairways, Railings,
Machinery, Paint FAcilities, Trucks, Trailers and Hauling Equipment,
Welding and Cutting and First Aid
Kits.
