GENERAL SAFETY
RULES
1. Report all accidents and/or injuries
to your supervisor regardless of how small and insignificant they
may seem. Report these immediately.
2. Walk, never run in the shop
areas.
3. Do not ride a passenger on fork
lifts, shop trucks, or any other vehicle not meant for
passengers.
4. Do not wear open-toed shoes or
sneakers in the shop. Master Pumps will pay $50.00 toward the
purchase of adequate footwear such as stell-toed shoes or
boots.
5. The wearing of safety glasses is
required in the shop area. Employees will be furnished safety
glasses.
6. Employees with hair below ear level
or beards longer than two inches must wear their hair or beard
covered by an approved covering when operating machines with
rotating spindles or chucks, belts or pulleys.
7. Do not use your hand to remove
turnings or chips from cutting tools. Use a stick, metal hook or
brush.
8. Do not operate any machine without
proper guards.
9. Cooperation in keeping the shop
clean is everyone's responsibility. Be sure all trash is disposed of
in the appropriate receptacles. Machinery and work areas are to be
kept clean by the operator on each piece of equipment. Oil and
grease should not be allowed to remain on walking surfaces, but
should be immediately cleaned up. Oily rags should be placed in
closed metal containers until disposed of.
10. Fighting, wresting, throwing
anything or general "horse play" will not be
tolerated. |
