GENERAL SAFETY RULES (page 2)
11. Do not, under any circumstances, play with an air hose. Do not blow dust or material toward any person. Never put the nozzle against any part of another person's body. Compressed air can quickly enter the body and cause death. Do not blow off floors with the air hose. Do not operate air hose without 30 p.s.i. nozzle.
12. You must not wear gloves while operating a machine, tool or shile working close to moving machinery such as conveyors, belts, etc., unless specified for hand protection.
13. Ear protectors and face shields must be worn by employees in all areas covered by provisions of the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Law, and those designated as hearing protection areas by Master Pumps & Equipment Corporation.
14. Unsafe piling or overloading flats, pallets, tubs or trailers is a violation of safety rules.
15. Do not leave machines or vehicles unattended while they are running.
16. Employees must not walk or climb over barricaded areas, go by another route. Passageways, ramps and stairways should not be used for storage areas and should be kept clear at all times. Work areas, exists and aisle spaces should also not be used for storage areas and should be kept clear at all times. Specific storage areas should be established and all materials should be stored using proper and safe storage methods.
17. Do not use mushroomed tools, hammers, chisels, etc. Keep the mushroomed edges of the head ground off.
18. Never use pneumatic chisels or drills for hand chipping with a hand hammer. The shanks of pneumatic chisels are very hard and there is danger of the shanks shattering when struck with a hammer. Always use handles on files.
19. Worn or frayed carpet, open seams and curled edges should not be permitted. There should be no loose floor tiles or mats.
20. Chemical resistant clothing should be used for corrosive materials including gloves for the hands.
